It’s often said moving home can be the most stressful time of your life, so Quotes4Removals have pulled together a handy checklist to help make the removals process much easier. With two months before you move there are already several things that you need to consider. Our useful checklist can help you keep track of your progress as it gets closer to your moving day:
Get removals quotes.
If you are renting your current property, confirm a moving date with your letting agency or landlord.
Buy a notebook. Write a to-do-list, make a note of important numbers, contacts and key dates.
Make a list of your main possessions. It’s unrealistic to expect to document everything, but you’ll find packing much easier if you can tick off what you’ve packed and what you haven’t.
Obtain a floor plan of your new home. This will help significantly with the removals process and help you decide what possessions you want to bring to your new home.
Purge your possessions. If you have any unwanted items think about selling them, recycling or giving them away to charity.
Check with your insurer if your policy covers removals. If not, your removals company should be able to advise you and provide suitable cover.
Start to clean out your cupboards and check behind them.
Research local schools and childcare options available near to your new home.
Research the area you are moving to and find out more about the local facilities.
